War Dead Remains

Hand-Over Ceremony

Every year the Japanese Government sends Remains Recovery Teams to areas where battles took place.

The remains they uncover are then brought back to Japan.

​

When the remains arrive in Japan, they are sent directly to the Chidorigafuchi National Cemetery.

At the Hand-Over Ceremony, the Recovery Team hands the remains over to the Health, Labour, and Welfare Ministry for DNA examination.
