Worship ceremony by the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare

The worship ceremony is hosted by the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare and is held on the last Monday of May.


Unknown remains are enshrined in the cemetery during this ceremony after being examined for several years for possible DNA identification.

With the attendance of a member of the Imperial Family, the Minister of Health, Labour, and Welfare hosts the ceremony to

inter the remains underground.


Highlights of this ceremony include the Imperial family member paying their respects to the remains, followed by flower offerings by

distinguished guests such as the prime minister and the chairman of parliament.
